Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices American cheese
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- Lettuce leaves
- Pickle slices
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
- Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties. Season each patty with salt and pepper.
- Place patties on the grill or skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness is reached.
- During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of American cheese and allow it to melt.
- Toast burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.
- Assemble the cheeseburgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a cooked patty with melted cheese.
- Add tomato slices, onion slices, pickle slices, ketchup, and mustard on top of the patty.
- Top with the other half of the burger bun and serve immediately.
