Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe:
A popular Indian dish featuring tender chicken pieces marinated in spices and yogurt served in a creamy tomato-based sauce.
Yield: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 3 tablespoons tikka masala spice blend
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine chicken pieces, yogurt, and tikka masala spice blend. Marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant.
- Add marinated chicken to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and sauce is thickened.
- Serve with rice or naan bread.
Cooking time: 30 minutes (plus marinating time)
Tips:
Adjust the level of spice by adding more or less tikka masala spice blend. You can also add cream for a richer sauce.
