Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe

Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe:

A popular Indian dish featuring tender chicken pieces marinated in spices and yogurt served in a creamy tomato-based sauce.

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  1. 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  2. 1 cup plain yogurt
  3. 3 tablespoons tikka masala spice blend
  4. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  5. 1 onion, finely chopped
  6. 3 cloves garlic, minced
  7. 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine chicken pieces, yogurt, and tikka masala spice blend. Marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  2. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant.
  4. Add marinated chicken to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides.
  5. Stir in crushed tomatoes and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and sauce is thickened.
  6. Serve with rice or naan bread.

Cooking time: 30 minutes (plus marinating time)

Tips:

Adjust the level of spice by adding more or less tikka masala spice blend. You can also add cream for a richer sauce.
