Margarita Pizza Recipe:
A classic pizza featuring a thin crust topped with tangy tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella cheese, and fragrant basil leaves.
Yield: 2 large pizzas
Ingredients:
- 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, preheat it in the oven.
- Roll out pizza dough into two thin circles on a lightly floured surface.
- Transfer the rolled-out dough to greased baking sheets or a preheated pizza stone.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Arrange sliced fresh mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove pizzas from the oven and sprinkle with fresh basil leaves. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Slice and serve hot.
